Prata Wala is a simple and casual restaurant that serves Indian cuisine. It is a good place for indian food if one desires that extra bit of comfort to dine in an air conditioned place instead of the regular prata shop found in neighborhood coffee shops.
We arrived on a weekday evening and did not have to jostle with any crowds. We comfortably selected a table of our choosing and proceed to place my orders at the counter. Drinks were served upon ordering but we were given the food buzzer to collect our food when it is ready. I did not fancy having to get another buzzer to come back for my 2nd dish and thought it will be more efficient to only ask me to come collect when both the items that i have ordered are ready.
Missus had a plain prata and also the plaster which is basically a plain prata with sunny side up instead of cooked egg in the usual egg prata. The prata was fluffy and crisp. Fish curry was provided but it was slightly too spicy for missus but i found it to be quite good. Although Prata Wala claim they have the largest and yummiest prata in town, i beg to differ as I have tasted better ones.
I had the tandoori Naan set which came with a 3 dipping sauces, 2 different curries and a green sauce which i believed is mint & coriander chutney. The tandoori chicken tasted quite good with its soft and succulent meat but the naan was rather tough and disappointing.
Overall, i will choose to come to the place if i wanted the comfort of air conditioning and don't mind paying a little extra. Otherwise, the neighborhood coffeeshop should suffice.
