Food review: Spizza @ East Coast

Pizza, one of the best comfort food. What can be more satisfying than wolfing down a large slice and downing a beer together with it. Whats even better than a slice of regular pizza, a gourmet slice and spizza is the place to go!

Spizza's have a good range of thin crust wood-fire oven pizza which mostly are curiously christened with female names. Apart from the pizzas which they are known for, they also made classic italian fare which are reasonably priced.

We arrived at the outlet at East Coast road one Sunday evening and found a rather empty restaurant. We got a seat beside the glass panels which allowed us to people watch as we munch on the delightful pizzas. Service was prompt in the family friendly restaurant which soon became packed after our arrival.

Our pizza arrive in about 15-20 minutes after our order which was not too bad. Missus had the Ursula which contained Tomato, Mascarpone, Spinach, smoked Salmon, Capers on top of the delicious thin crust. It was evident that the ingredients used were fresh with no fishy smell from the smoked salmon and the greens retained the crunch of fresh vegetables.

Hawaiian is my favourite and I wanted to try something different and went with the Rebecca. She is a white pizza with Mozzarella, Gorgonzola, cooked Ham, Rucola, sun-dried Tomatoes. Definitely not the usual I am used too. I enjoyed the new found taste in pizza which did not contained any tomato based sauce. The white sauce was slightly creamy and combined well with the various cheese and ham. The strong taste of Gorgonzola may not suit every taste buds but it was satisfying for me.

The missus and I both enjoyed our pizzas which was different from the usual offerings. If Pizza hut gets too boring and Sarpino's cannot pleased you anymore. Look no further than Spizza with its unique offerings! A side note which may soiled your dining experience is that the restaurant can get pretty noisy when it is full and you can hardly have a conversation. The service on the other hand is great and we are unable to finish our 2 large pizzas which was kindly packed into a take away box for us. The entertainer app allowed us to have a 1 for 1 deal which makes coming to Spizza even more awesome than it already is!
