Located in the North coast of Taiwan overseeing the beautiful beaches is the Oia Cafe 伊亞藝術咖啡館. Furry little Alpaca roam around the cafe enjoying themselves chasing after children and biting everything in sight awaits you as you enter the cafe. The white fluffy animal are a joy to behold and what better way to enjoy them first hand.

Wild honey is a wildly popular restaurant serving up breakfast options from all over the world. 3 restaurants have since opened in classy districts since its inception in 2009 is a testament of the popularity. Be it savory options or a sweet snack, seafood, meat or vegetarian you can find it in Wild Honey. We head to their less busy but still posh branch at Scotts Square to check it out.

Hidden in a corner at the 2nd floor of the Alexandra retail centre is the Atmosphere Bistro & Bar. This eatery is one of the few in Singapore that can serve you coffee with 3D latte art and we head down to check it out.

A very cool and unique cafe is Flowers in the window in the cafe district in Johor Bahru which resembles more of a florist than a cafe. The cafe is artfully decorated with an overflowing of flora and fauna. Let us find out if the food is as good as how the cafe looks like.

Faculty of Caffeine is slightly separated away from the cafes in the hipster Jalan Dhoby, Johor Bahru but still reins in the crowd. Their menu is simple with mains being only pancakes and their coffee is pretty good.

Housed in a 2 storey shop house is Alicafe with an ominous looking facade. Do not be fooled by its tough exteriors as you will be greeted by friendly staff whom are happy to assist you once you step in. We found out what a gem this place turn out to be.

Baker & Cook is located in a quiet and inconspicuous corner facing Bugis cube. They serve decent coffee and a good variety of food that will delight many. Choose between enjoying indoors or taking your savories to go is available. Think of this place like a hipster Starbucks that serves you better food and coffee.

After a great fun for the past 2 days, it was time to move on from the hustle and bustle of Bukit Bintang and move on to a quieter part of town and continue our exploration of the city.

Located in Changi Village, Chock full of beans continued to rein in the crowds with its good food and wonderful coffee. Popular with the expats and local community, the cafe is very busy especially during weekends which is a sure sign of something great!

Located in Katong V, Group Therapy Cafe is a popular cafe among the east-siders in Singapore. During weekends, the cafe is perpetually crowded in the morning as the local residents and expats come to enjoy their daily cuppa.

Atmosphere bistro bar at East Coast is a nice gastro bar along the beaches of East Coast Park. The place is popular with expats and is a great place to sit down and unwind with a couple of friends.

Garden is a beautiful cafe that seemed to come out from a scene in a fairy tale. The cafe is intricately designed and is very good for picture taking.

Merchant's Lane is a beautiful cafe filled with rustic charm located at the bustling Chinatown. Housed in a shop house with a colorful history, the cafe is not obvious and needs some exploring before you are able to find it.

Froth is a popular dining restaurant/cafe located right in the middle of town at Middle road, Big hotel. Its location is not the most convenient with it being rather out of the way from most shopping places but the food is good enough for patrons to keep coming back for more.

Penny University is a popular cafe located in the eastern side of Singapore. Located along East Coast road near to Katong 112, the cafe is well liked by the expats and locals living in the area.

The cafe is packed like a sardine can and you will be hard-pressed for a seat during the weekends. During the weekdays, the cafe is still rather busy and seem to be having an understaffed situation. The exterior of the cafe is inviting and is decorated with a small table and also various kind of aprons at the sidewalls.










Entering the narrowly walkway, patrons are shown to their table and will proceed to the counter after having made their selections.





The condition of their menu clearly has seen better days and is in need of a change. Coffee aficionados will have no problem navigating their coffee selection which is only providing the size of the cup and add ons that could be made.


The best tables in the restaurant will definitely be the 3 booths in the restaurant. The clear walls provides a nice back drop for pictures.



Our food took a long time to be served and my full english breakfast was served to us first after a 10-15min wait. The dishes are well presented but is slightly oily with a thin coat of oil remaining at the end of the dish. My selection of poached eggs was also too well cooked that the yolk was not runny anymore. During the poaching process, the chef must have used too much vinegar resulting in a slight sour taste to linger.


The missus eggs benedict came 10-15minutes after my dish arrived which was too disappointing long. Missus eggs benedict was thankfully much better than mine. The hollandise sauce was well made and her eggs were not overcooked. The smoked salmon did not have a bad smell which was enjoyable. The disappointment was unfortunately still present with the sourish tinge from eggs as a result of too much vinegar during poaching.

Pizza, one of the best comfort food. What can be more satisfying than wolfing down a large slice and downing a beer together with it. Whats even better than a slice of regular pizza, a gourmet slice and spizza is the place to go!

The Replacement is one of the most instagrammed cafe in the Johor Bahru cafe scene. It is of little wonder why with the beautiful white washed walls that served a good backdrop for those delicious coffee and foods.

Maco Vintage is a gem of a cafe located in the cafe district in Johor Bahru. Its green exteriors make it stand out among the surrounding buildings and they have ample parking spaces just in front of the cafe which makes it easy for drivers.

Roost Repurposed & Recycled (RRR) cafe is located in the cafe central of JB that is 5 mins walk away from city square. The striking wall motifs makes it stand out along with its hipsterish ambience. It is a good place to chill out with friends and enjoy a lazy afternoon.

Arteastiq is a boutique tea house with a chic and upscale restaurant that you wont be surprised to see Tai tai having hi tea. They have a extensive tea menu filled with various artisan teas that are not only instagram worth but also very delicious.
