Food review: [CLOSED]Equinox semi buffet lunch @Swissotel The Stamford - the hidden gem no one wants you to know about

One of the highest dining venues in Singapore offering a luxurious spread for their semi buffet lunch is the Equinox restaurant. The stellar restaurant offers breath taking views that is not only a feast for the tummies but also rewarding for the sights.

Located in the lavishly appointed Swissotel, the Equinox restaurant boasts an address that is the envy of all. At level 70, you can have a bird's eye view of the cityscape while indulging in the decadent cuisines.

The semi buffet lunch only happens during Mon - Sat and is a perfect venue for a business lunch or if you are visiting our island, make this part of your itinerary. The menu is fairly simple and all you need to do is make a selection from the below menu and the rest of the items are buffet style.

The ambiance has mix of Western and Asian influence with Chinese styled perforated gates welcoming you as you step into the restaurant.

The dining table that we had was by the window and allowed us to indulge in the beautiful views of the surroundings. We had a great view of the East Coast where many vessels are seen anchoring and also had a splendid perspective of the Marina Bay Sands.

Without further adieu, let us wow you with the selection of food eats that you can expect. First of all, the impressive salad bar has various kinds of greens to help balance your diet. The beautiful colours definitely help to whet my appetite.

You can choose to toss your own salad with the different greens and help yourself with the different sauces.

Plenty of toppings to go into your salads

Too much greens? How about some cold cuts or pickles for the additional textures.

If you prefer ready made ones, check out the section below and take your pick.

The bread and small bites section is equally impressive.

You can have the various crunchy chips and have them with the tasty dips.

There are four different dips to choose from but the highlight of this will be the smoked salmon topped with caviar which you can wolf down in one spoonful.

Cheese lovers can take delight in the decent selection and pair them with fruits and biscuits to experience the diverse tastes of each.

The freshly baked breads can be enjoyed with the lavish foie gras terrine that is so flavorful and exciting for your senses.

They say that soup nourishes ones body and soul and you have the cauliflower or miso soup for that purposes. Various condiments are provided for the added texture.

The highlights of the buffet will definitely be the seafood section where you can find the different shellfish with the best being the succulent oysters.

You can find mud crabs and plump juicy prawns. I recommend the claws which are quickly snapped up.

The pearl makers are fresh and amazingly good.

For raw fish lovers, you have a small selection of Sashimi which are fresh and drool worthy.

The most lavish item will be from one of these round dishes which I never will have imagine appearing on a buffet line.

Yes!!! Caviar!!! A quick check online reveal prices of between $80 - $360 for a 56g tin.

For those with sweet tooth, the splendid selection of desserts will make you wish you have a bigger stomach. You can choose from 2 flavours of frozen yogurts, chocolate fondue and many other lavishly made cakes.

The buffet line is enough to gouge yourself silly but wait, there are still mains for everyone. The missus order the Baked Salmon which came beautifully plated. The herb emulsion provided interesting flavors to the already awesome dish .

I did not want something heavy and had the Grilled Barramundi. The tangy dressing and the crunch from the vegetables coupled with the firm flesh of the fish provided interesting combinations which send waves of joy down my tummy.

To end off the buffet, tea or coffee will be served and I cant help myself using MBS which made for an amazing backdrop.

Some pictures of the food that we thoroughly enjoyed.

The amazing value of this buffet lunch is a hidden gem. Do consider treating yourself for a celebratory lunch and let your friends and families be jealous of you. Reservations are a must and be early to enjoy the best seats in the restaurant. Service is great and the staff clear your empty plates so you can head out for more. 2. Hi Alex, they served us ice water without charge. If you will like something more substantial, they are available for a fee. Coffee or tea is also served when you end your meal.
