The Assembly ground is a hidden gem tucked away at quiet corner at the first level of The Cathy. They serve a great cup of coffee and whipped up a great brunch menu.

Armed with the entertainer app which costs a mere $75 (original $85 less $10 promo code), we set out to try some of the 1 for 1 deals and decided to make a point to come back to Assembly ground for another bunch date.
To our dismay, we are not able to utilize the 1 for 1 deal as it was Chinese New Year eve. We were too lazy to change to another location and decided to just pay full price because the food is good.
Service was a little of a let down but could be understandable due to the lack of manpower and our food took longer than what we experienced previously.
Ragout of beef with Rosti 7.5/10
Eggs Zoey 7/10
Missus did not disappoint and had the Eggs Zoey again which still retained the standard. Eggs were poached perfectly and the smoked salmon a great combination.
We ordered a flat white and latte. Usually, the flat white is supposed to be served with a mug and the latte in a glass. However, it was strange that both were served in mugs.

[1st Visit Dec 2015]
We arrived at the Cathy around 1030am on a Sunday to have my favorite meal together with my favorite person. The cafe was rather empty and we were free to choose our table. The cafe is just beside the assembly store which is a multi label concept store. Being just next door, the cafe is a great place to rest those tired legs after a good day of shopping.Tables are well spaced and one does not have to shout to get your message across to your dining partner.
The cafe is beautifully decorated with wallpapers and also bicycles were seen to be hanging from the ceiling. The dim lightings provides the feeling of a relaxed atmosphere.
They have a good selection of food and beverages and you can view their Cafe Menu.
Tables are decorated by those little white flowers that are commonly used in bouquets. Lemon infused water is also provided for diners.
I had the flat white and missus have the cappuccino. The coffee has pleasant aromas and were very smooth. 7.5/10
Eggs Zoey 7.8/10
Assembly Brunch 7/10
Eggs Zoey is assembly ground's version of Eggs Benedict but replacing the ham with smoked salmon. Some greens are included with wine vinaigrette the choice of dressing. The most important elements in these dish is the poached eggs and hollandaise sauce. Both of which did not disappointed and slicing the eggs reveal the yolk flowing onto the english muffins putting a simile on missus face.
The Assembly Brunch which i guess is their signature dish for brunch did not fare too badly as well. There is a good variety of ingredients placed together in good combination. Scrambled eggs were fluffy and the sauteed mushrooms was not too oily as well. Potato gratin on the other hand was a little dry for my liking though. Toast was crisp and it was delightful to have them with each of the different ingredients on the plate. The other complain was that the wooden plate although nice in appearance, moved too much as I was cutting the food into bite size and I have to keep adjusting.
Overall, I will come back again for their brunch and also try out some of their other mains. The food is great and it is a great alternative from the usual popular cafes that are usually overcrowded. The atmosphere makes it a great place to relax and the great coffee is another reason to return.
