Having had a long day previously, we decided to skip breakfast and sleep in. We laze around and finally woke up and head to the nearby Batam City Square to grab some lunch.
It was not a bad decision as we found the breakfast to be "missable" the next day.Our lunch was settled at the Gadeno at Batam City Square. In our opinon the restaurant is a tourist trap and you will be better of spending your money at other places. Check out the miserable looking lunch.
We wondered around the mall but could not find anything worthy of our purchase. We decided to catch an afternoon movie and selected Ip man 3. We had some time before our movie and went to the supermarket to see if we can land any good buys and left with a big haul.
We had the luxury of time and decided to head back to our hotel and head to the complimentary high tea available for guest staying in the suite rooms. The pictures look nicer than the food and its is not worth making time for. We had a short rest after keeping our awesome buys and head over to the cinema to catch our movie/
The theater was reasonable but the seats look dated and in need of a makeover. The sound system is quite good. In case you are wondering, the movie is narrated in Cantonese but there are English subtitles.
We decided we need a little bit of pampering after dinner and head towards our favorite massage place, First Choice. We did our homework and found the place to provide the most reasonably priced massage.
We decided to do foot reflexology for an 1h which was at a super cheap price of 140,000idr/$14.50. We had plush seats that were comfortable enough to fall asleep on. Our seats also had personal TVs which was very indulging. Free Wifi was available but its usability is questionable. Ginger tea is available at the end of the session. The masseuse were very professional and applied reasonable amount of strength. I will recommend this place and will be back to try the spa packages the next time.
We left happy and wanted to grab this huge crepe that we saw earlier even though it was dinner time. The crepe was delicious but we were disappointed as many toppings were already sold out at the time we went. It was quite affordable at about $2sgd depending on the toppings you selected. We saw someone purchase an ice cream crepe which contained like 6-7 scoops and it was beautifully shaped like a bouquet. Its a must try the next time!
The crepe was enough to satisfy our cravings but we need to grab dinner. We decided upon Sushi Tei which was beautifully housed in a building of its own and looked very upmarket. It was miles apart compared to our paltry lunch and also affordable.
After our eventful day, we settle for a good soak at our in room jacuzzi and tired the milk bath that we bought earlier and turn in for the night soon after.
We woke up the next day and true enough, we did not miss much when we did not head down to the restaurant for breakfast on day 3. We quickly finished and pack up to get ready to leave. Took the hotel car and back to home sweet home. Took some photos of the scenery and they turn out with a interesting bluish tint. As we were away for more than 48h, we had the privilege to purchase alcohol from the duty free shop. We had a lot of fun and feel very relaxed after this trip. It was great and we will definitely come back to Batam again.
