Having had a long day previously, we decided to skip breakfast and sleep in. We laze around and finally woke up and head to the nearby Batam City Square to grab some lunch.

After a very forgettable breakfast at Novotel Batam, we started our itinerary with our driver for the day pick us up to bring us to our new hotel for the next 2 nights, BCC. We wanted to try various hotels in Batam to have a different experience and also review the various establishments to help our readers make a informed choice in choosing their stay when visiting Batam

Sushi Tei is a well known Japanese sushi chain that as its name suggest, popular for its sushi. The restaurant we visited features an open concept kitchen where patrons are able to inspect the preparation process and also their signature conveyor belt to bring sushi to diners.

The BCC Hotel is one of the most highly rated hotels in Hotel Booking websites and in my opinion the best 4 star hotel in Nagoya area in Batam. Everything that a traveler requires is within reach in minutes. BCS Mall is a short 2 minutes walk away where there is plenty of restaurants, a supermarket and lots of shopping options. An outdoor food court is just beside the BCS mall for travelers interested to sample the local cuisine. All in all making The BCC hotel an ideal location for rest and relaxation.

Zenbu is a fine looking Japanese restaurant that caters to the above average crowd. The mood and design of the restaurant creates a mood that one is with nature and it seems they wish to create the effect that one is dining in a forest.

Barelang Seafood restaurant is a must visit for everyone coming to Batam. The restaurant poses the freshest seafood(well of course, they are kept alive in nets at sea) and almost boast a beautiful view of the Barelang bridge.

For Christmas long weekend in 2015, Missus and I decided to embark on a trip to Batam. Batam is located just 40min ferry ride away from Singapore and is a great place to relax and unwind from the hectic Singapore life. It is a great option for tourist to experience a different rustic landscape and is also widely known to be great for their inexpensive golf courses.

Red crab Restaurant is a seafood place that serves delicious and restaurant style Chinese cuisine. The food and ingredients used is of good quality and is comparable to famous restaurants like Jumbo in Singapore. Price wise, it is affordable and cost about 1/3 what one may pay in Singapore.

Novotel Batam is designated as a 4 star hotel located just minutes away from Habour bay ferry terminal in Batam. The hotel is located opposite the Pacific Palace hotel which is a hotel shaped like a cruise ship.
