We reach the restaurant at around 7pm on a Friday evening and restaurant was almost full house. We managed to clear the short queue in about 10mins which was great. At Bijin Nabe, you will be expected to queue more than 1.5h to try the amazing pot of collagen soup.
Collagen :)
Fresh Ingredients
We order the Christmas special set that came with a generous servings of vegetables, some seafood and 4 lumps of minced meat. We were also able to select ramen or udon to go with meal and we promptly selected our favorite ramen. The prawns provided were "de-shelled" leaving only the head and tail end which was a nice touch for those whom are more lazy.
De-shelled Prawns
Slow cooked chicken. Yum!!
Sashimi
Overall, the food was good but for those familiar with Bijin Nabe, i feel the quality of Bijin Nabe was a touch better with more interesting ingredients but that being said, we would not mind having the collagen hotpot at Danro again. Service at Danro can also be improved as some service staff appears to be rather new and are not aware of the menu and seem rather confused at times. This happened when we ask for our sashimi and 2 plates were brought to our table which 1 of them was taken back in the end.
BURP!!!
