Food review: Angelina @ Capitol piazza Cityhall ~ Exquisite French confectionery with menu for every time of the day

Angelina, no this post has nothing to do with Ms Jolie,  open up with much hype and fanfare back in 2015. The restaurant has managed to outlast many restaurants and cafe in the cut throat business it is in. The brand celebrates more than a century of history since its inception in 1903. Singapore is proud to host its first South East Asia branch serving up its famous Mont-Blanc and hot chocolate . With its premium price tag, we check out if the restaurant is worth a visit.

Food review: Wine Mansion @ Keong Saik Road - $5 wine, look no further

Tucked in a beautiful shophouse along the hustle and bustle of Keong Saik Road, Wine Mansion serves up delectable western spreads and a great selection of wine list. Their ongoing promotion of alcohol buffet @ $35 for 4h is a great steal and $5 drinks on Friday make this a great place to chill after work.

Food review: Laffio @ Beach Road

Located in the quiet corner of Beach Road is Laffio which is a nice gastrobar that is artfully decorated and resembles what I will imagine to be the interior of a tree house. The food is decent and will be great for a night's out for a date or even a friend's gathering.

Food review: Bistro 1855 @ Suntec City

At the far end of the Suntec City lies a gem of a restaurant in Bistro 1855. In collaboration with its sister 1855 the bottle shop, the restaurant churns out delectable cuisine to pair with its 500 label strong, of fine wines.

The restaurant is just beside the exit of Promenade mrt station and is popular with the salarymen looking for a tipple after a long days of work,

The restaurant is popular and they have a live band come in at around 830pm to belt out a few tunes to entertain the crowd.

Ordering is done via a ipad  which is comfortable and easy to use. You can of course request for some human touch and check with the friendly service staff for recommendations.

The sister retail outlet has a strong arsenal of wines to choose from to accompany your dinner.

We went with the housepour which were going for $6 a pop during the happy hour which was an awesome deal. The wines were not too shabby and provided very decent value.

The missus went with the snapper loin which was not only aesthetically pleasing but also welcoming for the palate. The fish is fresh and nicely pan fried and combine well with the bed of hollandaise sauce that normally goes with eggs. Very interesting combination which we absolutely adore.

I had the Serranao pork check which was delightfully tender. The brown sauce was quite good and the strong taste of the mint provided an interesting experience. The cut of the meat was not the biggest and may leave diners longing for more.

The restaurant also has awesome lunches with main courses that comes with a salad bar buffet which will be something we will have to try out one day! Happy hour for drinks start from 12 -  8pm so head down early! Entertainer app users enjoy 1 for 1 main courses!!!

Food review: Chop Chop Selection - Upmarket Hawker fare

We discover a new hidden gem in the East at Simpang Bedok. Instead of the all the favourite spize or the Zi Char space opposite, there is a new and great option available at the 2nd story of the Giant Supermarket. The hawker center is a bit different from what Singaporeans are used too with interesting stalls and pubs hawking international brews. This time, we tried the western food stall, Chop Chop Selection.
