Novotel Batam is designated as a 4 star hotel located just minutes away from Habour bay ferry terminal in Batam. The hotel is located opposite the Pacific Palace hotel which is a hotel shaped like a cruise ship.
We arrived at the check in counter at around 4pm local time. There was a short queue and our check in time took 6mins.

Since it was Christmas season and we wanted to celebrate with a little
bit of luxury, I decided to book their Business Suite which is whopping 81sqm
large. The room is HUGE and has a separate living room and sleeping
quarters. Design and furnishing on the other hand were dated and there was no evidence of
luxury that one will expect in a 4 star suite room.

Amenities provided were decent and body scrub was included which is usually absent in standard hotels. The towels provided appeared clean but smelled like damp cloth. Some softener could have been added to the towels to make them smell better. Bathing salts are provided which will be useful for taking a soak in the bathtub.
Power sockets in the room are similar to those that are used in Singapore so we do not have to be worry about bringing any adapters as I believe Indonesia sockets are of the 2 pin variety. A shoe sponge is provided for guests to use and also take away.

Kind size Bed was decent enough to have a good nights rest with 2 different size pillows provided. One of which was a larger squarish one and the other a standard pillow. Extendable LED lights at the side of each bed was an added welcome if one is keen to read and do not want to disturb your sleeping partner.
A park of some sorts that exist more as a smoking area was soothing to the eyes with the added greenery. Missus and I decided to snap a few pictures of the lush surroundings and she had fun posing for the camera.
A gym and indoor pool was located in Basement one and guests are to sign in at their active lifestyle corner. The gym is large and seems to conduct some gym classes. The indoor swimming pool appear uninspiring and does not look enticing for me to take a dip in. The view outside was not too bad and we can see the Pacific Palace hotel.

As usual, we test their response time for housekeeping and that took 7 min. Their wifi speed was also slow and unstable.We were able to get decent speeds in the evening but next morning we cannot even send out whatsapp message.
We decided to end the evening by ordering their room service. I ordered a Mai Tai cocktail for missus which tasted refreshing and cost only about $10sgd which was great comparing to the prices of cocktails in Singapore. Cocktail arrive in 30minutes.

Breakfast in the morning was at the square restaurant. There is a good variety of food but quality seems to be compromised. There was no desire for us to get 2nd helpings and some of the utensils does not appear to be cleaned properly and I recommend to double check before using.

Overall, we had a reasonable stay in the humongous suite room which was large enough to hold a small party. Given the price that we paid, the stay was acceptable but given a choice, i will think twice about coming back.
