Review: Klia2 Plaza Premium Lounge (next to Gate L8) - A lounge that can do better

Flying can be quite a stressful experience having to ensure you dont miss your flight time, long queues during check in and lugging the heavy luggage around. Airport lounges are thus one of the remedy to alleviate the pressure and provide some relief. We visit the Plaza Premium Lounge at Klia 2 to see if it has done its job properly.

The lounge is adequately spaced so there is sufficient personal space but the overall lounge area is tiny and will have issues to accommodate 30 guests at a single time. There are tiny tables to enjoy your refreshments as well as comfy seats for guest to rest their tired legs.

Freshly made food options are rather limited in this lounge with its small crew of 2.

There are some sad looking pastries that did not appear to appetizing.

You can help yourself to some greens which are reasonable but nothing to shout about.

Some light refreshments at the counter which is limited to only iced water or orange juice. It will definitely much better if the lounge is stocked with canned soft drinks.

If you prefer a full sized table, such options are available but most people prefer the more comfortable sofa seats.

This is the only lounge in Klia2 that serve alcohol and it is the only nice thing that I found about this place which is not anything uncommon in most lounges. We tried both the laksa and lasagne which were both paltry in taste. Thankfully we had the beer to cleanse our palate and to help wash it all down.

The jumbo hot dog on the other hand did not veer off course but was strangely left out of the menu. We had to request for one after noticing the hot dogs in the kitchen.

It was nice to rest our tired legs on the plush seats and watch television but it can be slightly awkward to face another stranger due to how the seats were lined.

Wifi is available and it was slightly faster than the free wifi provided by the airport. Do not expect it to be able to stream youtube videos to past the time though.

On the whole, we did not feel the lounge provided the much needed respite. No doubt it was more comfortable than the airport seats but we find that the refreshments were inadequate and we had to go to some of the neighboring food stalls to grab something more satisfactory. The lounge is accessible by using your priority pass and there is definitely lot of room to improve.
