Food review: Sankai @ Liang Seah Street Bugis

Buffet is one of the best indulgence to satisfy the insatiable hunger and to gorge yourself silly with loads and loads of food. Sankai is an awesome place for that providing with free flow of quality Japanese cusines and my favorite Sashimi.

The restaurant is small and has a limited dining capacity so it is recommended to make a reservation to ensure a seat. The decor is family-like and simple. Due to space constraints, tables can be a little too close to each other.

The quality of the food is quite good and comparable to the popular Ikoi and Irodori Japanese buffets which are of a similar concept. The sashimi are definitely the highlights of the place. There are thickly sliced and very fresh. The lightly seared salmon is something new for me and is recommended. The salmon with mentai sauce is also another fan favourite with the grilled salmon combined well with Mentai sauce. The sushi are quite well prepared and the cooked dishes are not too shabby too.

Service can be slow during busy hours so it is recommended to have enough orders to fill up your tables. Once they are served to you, hand another sheet of what you intend to have next to the friendly waitress to avoid a long wait after you are done with those that are already on your table. Drinks are free flow as well and the friendly waitress will do their rounds to top up for your once they are low.

They now have a promotion on Qoo10 at $29.90 which gives you 3h to attempt to burst your stomach during lunch. Topping up $6 gives you the option to enjoy their dinner for 5h. The sashimi itself is quite worth the price being paid if you are a raw fish lover and the rest of the cooked items and sushi are not too shabby which makes it a great place to come if I am craving unlimited servings of sashimi.
