Froth is a popular dining restaurant/cafe located right in the middle of town at Middle road, Big hotel. Its location is not the most convenient with it being rather out of the way from most shopping places but the food is good enough for patrons to keep coming back for more.
The restaurant boosts an industrial chic decor and also a asian inspired fusion menu. It is interesting to notice Siobak Aglio Olio and Chilli crab spaghetti which are classic italian dishes with a Singapore twist.
The restaurant is quite busy with office crowds and also friends can be seen having their catch up sessions. It is also a good place for a casual dinner date. As the place is quite popular, it is recommended to come with a booking. Service is quite good and the crew kindly informed us that food will be slightly slower than usual but it was still served to us in a reasonable amount of time.
Pan fried salmon 7/10
The missus once again went with the seafood option and had the pan-fried salmon. The salmon had a crispy skin and was then slow roasted in the oven. The fish did not tasted dry with the texture still firm. It was also a joy to drizzle the sauce onto the salmon which is good enough to eat on its on.
Cheesy lobster sandwich 7.3/10
I had the cheesy lobster sandwich which come with a good chunk of slipper lobster meats. The mentai mayo and cheese show signs of it being flamed grilled which added a nice smoking flavour. Tobiko (flying fish roe), which I believed had squid ink added to turn it black was added on top of the lobster meat. They provided a different texture and added health benefits with the high content in omega 3 fatty acids. It was certainly a pleasure to have big mouthful of the cheesy lobster meats.
We heard that the wonderful establishment will move out of its premises come end April and shift to ascott Raffles place. Do check them out before they move! If you have the entertainer app, you can enjoy 1 for 1 mains which we did!
