Hotel Review: Bay hotel Deluxe Queen room - Great value 4 star hotel near to Sentosa [updated Oct 2016]

Bay hotel superb location, just 2 mins away from habourfront mrt station and vivocity makes it very good base to explore the nearby Sentosa. Guests can utlise the skytrain or choose by walking via the Sentosa boardwalk to arrive at Universal Studios. Being close to Vivocity, the largest shopping mall in Singapore also ensures that guests will never run out of reasonably priced food options and a wide range of shopping options.

We booked the standard room which comes with a twin bed but we were kindly upgraded to their deluxe room which comes with the queen size double bed. Checking in was quick and the staff were very helpful. Some sitting areas are available at the lobby area for guests to relax.

The Deluxe Queen room is spacious at 23sqm which is rather large for its price point when compared with its other four star peers. The rooms are well designed and makes use of the available space well. Wash basin is located outside of the restrooms.

Bedding is very comfortable and there is some nice artwork to decorate the walls which is a nice touch.

The 40inch large lcd television provided adequate entertainment and it is nice to lie in bed to enjoy the cable channels. The complimentary mini bar with rough value around $15sgd is very well stocked with snacks, beer and soft drinks and makes it all the more reasons to consider just staying indoors to relax and unwind.

Safe is available on top of the mini beer and the wardrobe is open concept with limited space to hang clothings.

Tea bags provided are not from the regular lipton brand and feels premium. Milo and also hot chocolate was also included in the package. With the very well stocked mini bar and the various hot beverages, it was so easy to get fat just staying in this hotel.

The included amenities included the standard toothbrush, shower caps and more with combs and vanity kits for the ladies.

The bathrobes was decently soft and feels comfortable to wear.

The study table is large enough to get some proper work done and its facing the window which allows natural light to flow in.

The air conditioning is very strong and the temperature can be adjusted using the idiot proof control panel.

The Bay windows gives us a view of the neighboring port facilities and we can also see Vivocity due to its close proximity.

The toilet and bathroom is separated by a opaque glass panel. My favorite rain shower is present and the slight criticism I have is that the provided shampoo is slightly stinging to the eyes and requires many attempts at the press bottle to obtain the desired amount.

The hotel has a decent size swimming pool with a view of the greenery at the back of the hotels. Although not as beautiful as some of the infinity pools in Singapore. the pool provides the needed relaxation from Singapore's scorching temperatures.

The indoor gym is located at the end of the swimming pool which is well equipped with exercise machines and free weights. Users can set their heart racing if they spot any beauties or hunks swimming in the pools while running on the treadmill. There is a mini fridge that stocks water for the gym users to grab a drink after a tough workout. Very detailed oriented!

Breakfast is enjoyed at the street 50 restaurant and provides a very good variety of different food catering to both the western and Asian palate. The usual cheese, yogurts, ham and bacon will delight the westerner in you while the porridge with condiments will satisfy the Asian folks.

The stand out items are the bread pudding and Chinese prawn dumplings which ran out in minutes once they are on display.

The food are pre cooked and placed in warmers. Due to the short time they stayed in the warmers and the constant need for the service crew to replace the items, some of the food felt cold. Check out the pictures of the spread!

The bread pudding is a must try!

Perfect for kids who are picky about their food!

There is no live cooking station but eggs can be ordered from the friendly service crew.

A hearty breakfast!

I will definitely recommend this hotel for its location being so close to Sentosa and also its comfortable rooms. The complimentary mini bar provided all the more reason to stay in and was of great value. The slight criticism I will have is the slightly slow wifi which can be slightly annoying for the traveler. With the various facilities, good service and good breakfast, it is also a great place for a couple to wake up in on a lazy Sunday making it a excellent choice for a staycation.
