We discover a new hidden gem in the East at Simpang Bedok. Instead of the all the favourite spize or the Zi Char space opposite, there is a new and great option available at the 2nd story of the Giant Supermarket. The hawker center is a bit different from what Singaporeans are used too with interesting stalls and pubs hawking international brews. This time, we tried the western food stall, Chop Chop Selection.
A vintage looking entrance greets you as you head up the 2nd level and it was not too packed despite being a Sunday. Seats were readily available and we noticed every stall was well designed unlike our typical hawker centers.
There are decorations along the walkways which is certainly pleasing to the eyes.
We tried the food from Chop Chop Selection and we are in love with the potato salad that comes as the side dishes for our steak and salmon.
My rib eye steak was served with medium doneness as requested. It was a decent gentleman's cut with a good ratio of meat and fat to ensure every bite is tender and full of flavour. The black pepper sauce was to my liking and I love the potato Salad.

Missus as usual had the Grilled Salmon which come in 2 huge slices. Despite being hungry, she had some trouble devouring her meal. The only downside was that the salmon was probably cooked for too long and turn up slightly dry. The sides had the same garden salad that came with thousand island dressing and also the awesome potato salad.

For the price being paid, the value is not too bad considering the large serving. That being said, we can have similar quality of food in a slightly more comfortable setting in Astons specialties which comes with air conditioning. I will however come back to The Bedok Market Place to try out the other offerings so stay tuned for more reviews!
