Food review: Bornga @ City Square Johor Bahru - Authentic Korean right across the causeway

Where do you get quality authentic korean BBQ in a nice setting? Try Bornga at City Square with its quality meats and mouth watering korean dishes that will blow you away.

The restaurant is usually quite crowded during meal times and seats are allocated depending if you are having barbecue. Chairs are prepared for guests waiting for a table which is a nice consideration.

Sofu and beer or the way Koreans call it, Somaek is definitely on the cards dining in a Korean restaurant and we follow the tradition.

We were presented a nice selection of side dishes which were decent. They are refillable in case you cannot get enough of the Kimchi, like me.

For our mains, we ordered the Haemul Dduk JJim which is a mix of seafood, rice cake, fish cake and vegetables braised in a spicy sauce. Looking at the colour of the dish, you can tell that it is really spicy! There is a generous amount of seafood although the prawns were not the freshest.

To complement our meal, we had the Haemul Pajeon which is kind of Korean Seafood pancake. The crisp exterior and soft insides make every bite a delight. Coupled with the soy and vinegar based sauce, the taste and texture was simply amazing.

We enjoyed our dining experience and this will be the restuarnt to go with if you want some quality Korean food in JB's City Square. With the attractive pricing, we will be back to try the barbecue the next time! Check out the review of Bornga Suntec City in Singapore
